Alejandro Drago is a renowned violinist, educator, conductor, composer, and jury member. Hailed by critics as a "superb musician" with the "classical virtuosity of a Heifetz or Perlman," the "suave café style of Florian Zabach," and the "jazzy insouciance of Stephane Grappelli," 1 Drago has seamlessly blended diverse musical styles. His discography, spanning France, the United States, and Argentina, includes string quartets, solo concerts, avant-garde tangos for EMI International, and an internationally acclaimed album of solo violin works released by Japan's Naxos Music Library and CD Tradition. As a soloist, Drago has graced prestigious concert halls worldwide, including Moscow Conservatory's Great Hall, the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, the Chapel of Saint Petersburg, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Kennedy Center in Washington, and the Kolarac Hall in Belgrade. He has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Belarus State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hungarian "Mendelson" Chamber Orchestra, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (Texas), among many others. Drago is an active educator, conducting masterclasses, seminars, lectures, and lecture-concerts at prestigious institutions across Asia, Europe, and the United States. He regularly teaches and performs at festivals in Latin America, the United States, and Europe. A highly decorated musician, Drago has won numerous awards, including a special prize at the Rodolfo Lipizer International Competition (Gorizia, Italy, 1992), third prize at the Petar Konjović International Competition for Young Musicians (Belgrade, 1993), and first prize at the "New Talents in Classical Music" competition (Buenos Aires, 1997). As the Fort Lauderdale Connex newspaper stated in October 2013, "Drago is a violinist of extraordinary talent. Combining brilliant virtuosity with deep fullness of sound, he manages to spin a melody in mesmerizing shades, playing double and triple stops with seemingly effortless bravura."
