Professor of the Choral Conducting Department at the Zhiganov Academy, Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Tatarstan. A graduate of the Kazan Choir School, Professor Alfiya Zapparova is a prominent figure in Tatar musical culture, a person with deep and diverse knowledge. Conductor-choirmaster, pedagogue, public figure, brilliant organizer – this is an incomplete list of her responsibilities. She has most vividly established herself as the head of the opera studio and the head of the Department of Musical Theater at the Kazan Conservatory. The work of the opera studio goes far beyond the curriculum and for many years has been a very noticeable phenomenon in the musical life of Tatarstan. Among her students are a large number of laureates of international competitions. She is a unique specialist in the field of pedagogy. As an educator and public figure, Alfiya Zapparova manifests herself in the organization and holding of annual choral festivals and conferences dedicated to the problems of professional education and culture. She is a laureate of the All-Russian Competition of Choral Ensembles – 1st prize, the International Competition "Contemporary Music" (Finland), Sacred Music by G. Palestrina (Vatican), the International Festival Europe-Asia and many others. She is the artistic director and chief conductor of the national chamber choir "Hyal," which in turn is a laureate of many international competitions.
